The Elaine Wolf Theatre Construction Update – Week of August 15, 2011
DEMOLITION WEEK! WORK BEGINS ON THEATRE INTERIOR!!
With our terrific summer programs completed, the MACC will begin to focus fully on the theatre renovation. This week will represent a massive ramp-up in our construction activity as we begin work on the interior of the theatre. Our MACC offices are closed this week as we clean out the theatre spaces affected and move offices and personnel. Our exterior work also continues outside. Note that portions of our south parking lot (immediately outside the doors of the theatre lobby) will be closed on Monday and Tuesday. Note that the theatre lobby entrance will be closed for entry for roughly the next five months. There will be south side access through the other doors next to the theatre lobby (Rabb Lobby entrance).
Planned work this week includes a continuation of the steel work on the exterior walls of the stair and elevator tower and continued work on the new box office located just inside the Rabb Lobby (main south lobby next to the theatre lobby). In addition, we will be clearing all theatre storage rooms and relocating the box office to our Dance Studio until the new box office is completed. Theatre seating will begin to be removed and stored for the re-configuration of the lower level seating. We will also demo the old A/C systems.

GENERAL PROJECT INFORMATION:
We are delighted to announce that we have received a significant gift from Elaine Wolf for a major renovation of our mainstage theatre space. The renovation will include a new balcony, accessible aisle, new stage, new electronic marquee, new lobby, new lighting and sound equipment and much more. This summer we are working to complete all exterior elements of the project while the weather is warm. Interior work will begin in August, once our summer program is completed. A reminder that we are open for business during the entire construction period!!
We apologize in advance for our mess and any disruption this will cause (noise, parking, dust, etc). Sometime in early 2012, we will proudly unveil the new state-of-the-art Elaine Wolf Theatre.
