Wounded Land

Director: Erez Tadmor

2015/Israel/80 minutes

Hebrew, Arabic with English Subtitles

A riveting thriller that explores the intense “behind the scenes” activity during a single evening following a terror attack in Haifa.

Amar, a do-good police officer in Haifa, and Neumann, his powerful but corrupt regional commander, are put to the ultimate test after a terrorist bombing places their moral and professional values at stake. As the night unfolds, they must answer both to their civic duty–in watching over the wounded terrorist as he is threatened at a city hospital by the vindictive families of the victims–as well as deeply personal ramifications. The tumultuous events of the night place Amar and Neumann’s moral and professional values at stake, as well as their long dedicated friendship.

Wounded Land has screened at over a dozen film festivals worldwide. It is the winner of three Israeli Academy Awards (Ophir Awards), for Best Director, Best Lead Actor (Roy Assaf), and Best Makeup Artist. Denver Premiere.
