Is the Holocaust funny? Director Ferne Pearlstein doesn’t shy away from the taboo topic of humor, delving deep into pop-culture to find out where to draw the line, and whether that is a desirable—or even possible—goal. – Jule Rozite/Tribeca Film Festival

Ferne Pearlstein’s lively documentary recreates the feel of the intimate comedy halls of New York City. Featuring trailblazing comedians such as Mel Brooks, Rob Reiner, Gilbert Gottfried, and Judy Gold, as well as incredible archival footage of concentration camp cabarets, this documentary will make you laugh and bring you to tears, quietly emphasizing why Holocaust programming is important: because while remembering is essential, finding humor amidst the suffering is the subversive part that gives us life.

The Last Laugh premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and has also screened at the Chicago International Film Festival, the Aspen Film Festival, and the Boston Jewish Film Festival, among others. Colorado Premiere.
