This exuberant, delightfully absurd, spot-on comedy is Israeli director-writer Dror Shaul’s ‘Dr. Strangelove.’ – Variety

The next generation squares off against old guard military hardliners to prevent a Middle East nuclear crisis in Atomic Falafel, a farce that skewers the current Israel-Iran showdown. –Atlanta Jewish Film Festival

This over-the-top, farcical, hilarious satire sees Israeli and Iranian military officers prepare secretive pre-emptive nuclear strikes against one another. But what the old guard never saw coming, other than a German nuclear inspector allergic to uranium reactors, is the new guard: globally-conscious teenagers with a proclivity for social media and a penchant for hacking into highly-sensitive military documents. Can local teenager Nofar help her mom, a beautiful widowed owner of a falafel truck, find love with the visiting German assessor? Can Facebook friends from two targeted military towns come together and promote peace before the actions of their elders threaten to start war?  These ludicrous plotlines come together in this wildly entertaining feature to voice a larger message of peace in the Middle East.

Atomic Falafel has screened at the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, the Toronto Jewish Film Festival, the Houston Jewish Film Festival, and others. Nominated for four Israeli Academy Awards, this film is a must-see!
