With his bar mitzvah rapidly approaching, Yoni’s already challenging and complex life is further complicated when his autistic brother, Tomer, unexpectedly returns home after living in an institution for the past 12 years. The intellectually gifted Yoni struggles to achieve social and self acceptance in the face of his underdeveloped physique and dysfunctional family life. Tomer’s arrival not only introduces one more obstacle in Yoni’s quest, it also opens the door to family secrets that include infidelity, addiction and a searing trauma from the past. Yoni’s barmitzvah Torah reading, the story of Noah and the flood, becomes both the seed crystal for the development of a genuinely loving relationship between the two brothers and the thematic backdrop for this emotionally tense drama of family destruction and redemption.
