Nora’s Will is a provocative dark comedy that is accumulating numerous awards around the world. The life of Jose, Nora’s ex-husband, has been defined by his steadfast refusal to be constrained or controlled by expectations or conventions of others, whether his ex-wife, his grown son or religion. Nora’s life has been defined by her need to control others which would include her repeated efforts to commit suicide. When at last Nora succeeds in ending her life we learn that her ability to control others extends beyond her death. Her detailed plans to bring together those she loved are revealed. Who Do You Love?
Director: Jerry Zaks
2008/USA/90 minutes
English
What do Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Howkin’ Wolf, Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker and Little Walter have in common? Chess Records, the label that helped shape blues and rock-n-roll music as we know them. Who Do You Love tells the story of Leonard and Phil Chess, two Polish-born Jewish immigrants who dared to dream big – and made it there, riding the highs and lows of life in the fast lane from putting in all the line with a single record to becoming one the biggest, most influential record companies in the world of popular music. So slick your hair back, put on your boogie shoes and crank the volume – Who Do You Love will rock your socks off and roll you dancing into the aisles. Colorado Premiere
