Join us as we present the brilliant Stephen Sondheim musical Into the Woods. Interweaving plots from several Brothers Grimm fairy tales, the play explores the bigger consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. The main characters are taken from the stories of Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, and Cinderella – tied together by a more original story involving a baker and his wife and their quest to begin a family. Into the Woods won several Tony Awards, including Best Score, Best Book, and Best Actress in a Musical. Note that we will be presenting the Junior version of the script (shorter with more youth friendly music). Enjoy the Academy’s mainstage experience with a fully produced musical production in the luxurious, new Elaine Wolf Theatre featuring a professional staff (including director, musical director, choreographer, stage manager, lights, set, costume designers and more).
