KMACC (Kaleidoscope at MACC)

Dance Kaleidoscope is delighted to announce a new collaboration with the Mizel Arts and Culture Center (MACC) – Kaleidoscope @ MACC or K-MACC for short! MACC has illuminated the human experience through creative and cultural programs in the performing, visual and literary arts for over two decades. MACC is lead by executive artistic director Steve Wilson, who has been directing, administrating, teaching and performing in Denver for the last 25 years. In addition, Steve has served as the Resident Director/ Artistic Director for the PHAMALY Theatre Company for 12 years (where he has worked extensively with Debbie Stark). He garnered awards for “Best Director” from both the Denver Post and Boulder Dailey Camera, as well as four Henry Awards (Colorado’s Tony Awards). The Wolf Theatre Academy, which is a program offered through MACC, is one of Denver’s most respected and professional theatre experiences for young performers.
Debbie Stark has over 40 years of experience in the Denver dance and theater community. She has performed and choreographed for many local theaters including The Arvada Center, Town Hall Arts Center, Magic Moments, and Mizel Theater and has been the choreographer for the highly acclaimed PHAMALY Theater Company for over 20 years. Debbie helped open and run the Children’s Theater program for Henry Lowenstein at the Denver Civic Theater and owned and operated her own Children’s Theater Company, Mountain Stage Productions, which provided quality theater for children. Debbie has been nominated and received numerous Denver Drama Critic and Ovation awards for her work over the years. She was also recognized with several nominations and garnered a Henry Award for her choreography on Urinetown.

In an effort to expand the scope of our program and the artistry of our students, Dance Kaleidoscope is recommending the theatre training at The Wolf Theatre Academy. We are combining forces to offer a comprehensive musical theatre training experience. We will be providing workshop classes and performance experiences at Dance Kaleidoscope and the JCC South Facility. (Both located off I-25 and Arapahoe)
